I believe in magic, in subtle hints that the universe is trying to tell you something or lead you somewhere. Little things, like the time on the clock, or a song on the radio, or even the clasp on your necklace. Just little things that you might not think to listen to, or be aware of. You need to close your eyes and open your mind.

Open your eyes, Close your ears.
Close your ears, Open your eyes.

One of my favorite  superstitions is the clock striking 11:11. The moment where you make a wish, anything you want, everything you want. Try it, Make a wish. Do you have it? Good. Now believe it can come true, you never know where the next miracle is going to come from, the next smile. You've got to believe its right around the corner waiting for you, and if you open your heart to it, your mind, your soul to the possibility, to the certainty of it. You've just got to believe in magic, you might just get the thing you're waiting for, but you need to believe it with all your heart.

Subtle things happen when you least expect it, like late at night, driving down an abandoned highway, nothing but street lights and the glimmer from the big white moon to keep you company. The radio is softly playing and a song comes on, a normal everyday song but at that moment coincided perfectly with the thoughts that were fluttering through your beautiful mind. That might be a sign that the universe gets you, understands you, is guiding you and whatever it is that you may be going through at that moment is for a reason. To build you up and make you stronger. To make you realize that there's always good around you.

Cute ones I've heard, although I'm sure they were told by someone's grandparents at a garden party way back when to shed light and slight happiness to an unfortunate situation, is if your nose is itching, its because someone is thinking of you. If you dream about someone it's because they went to bed thinking of you. When you can't fall asleep at night it's because you're awake in someones dream. But the one that always sticks with me is the clasp on your necklace, if its facing in the front close to your heart, it's because someone you hold dear to you is thinking of you.

I was told this when I was 13 by my aunt. I thought she was a little kooky and a hopeless romantic, being a tomboy and focusing on sports at the time I never thought it to be true. Over the years, more so recently, it always makes me feel better. When I'm missing someone, or I get nervous, which yes does happen occasionally, and I reach down to touch my necklace and notice the clasp is in the front, I feel better. It may sound silly to say but it's like at that moment the one you cared for sensed something was adrift and was subliminally telling you don't worry, its okay.
